A Creative Breakthrough: Turning a Bigfoot Quilt Idea Into Reality

You know those ideas that just sit in your head…

…and won’t leave you alone?

That’s what happened with my Bigfoot quilt.

I didn’t even have time to sew this week, but my mind kept working. And then suddenly, the idea clicked:

What if Bigfoot actually walked around the quilt?

👣 From Idea to Reality

I decided to try a raw-edge appliqué version of the Bigfoot Border stencil - placing footprints all the way around the edge.

Like he wandered through, and left his mark.

And once I made a sample?

It worked.

One of my favorite moments in quilting is when something you imagined actually translates into fabric.

A Bonus Win

It also gave me the perfect excuse to use my appliqué scissors.

(We all have tools we had to have… and this was their moment)
